The Ripple community has been vocal in regards to getting XRP listed as a base pair on the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance. Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, released a tweet from his official account, calling on Ripple and XRP supporters to pitch him why he should add XRP to his exchange as a base pair.
The tweeted stated:
“The xrp base shill is strong. Let’s get it out of your system, and put all your shills under this one tweet, and let’s see how much we get.”
The Ripple community unleashed a slew of memes, generating post more than 2,700 retweets, 2,900 replies and 5,600 likes. The responses varied from humorous to hysterical as the fanbase called for a base pairing.
Aside from the rabid fan responses, there are some legitimate reasons to their claims. Binance should take into consideration that XRP is already a base on the CoinField Exchange and the XRP United Exchange, as well as having the support of the Weiss Ratings financial site behind the token. However, XRP has been making a lot of headlines lately with their expansion into the Middle East and Southeast Asia, especially with its solutions for cross-border transfers.
XRP has also made news this week for once again, overtaking Ethereum for second place in terms of market cap. With this accomplishment, this leads XRP enthusiast to believe that Binance should pair all of its cryptocurrencies with XRP, which will help altcoins find their own rhythm in the market, without following the price swings of Bitcoin.
